Defenders of Children is a non profit dedicated to assisting Children in abusive situations, who have not been able to secure the protection and rights to which they are entitled. The Defenders of Children provide social and legal services. Their teams provide assistance to attorneys representing the child's protective family.

Gabriel's Angels provides healing pet therapy to abused, neglected and at-risk youth in Arizona. Through group and individual sessions children learn valuable life skills to propel them to a productive future. It is through the unconditional love of a therapy dog their healing can begin.

New Life Center is dedicated to the live-saving and life-changing work of providing emergency shelter and services for women and children escaping domestic violence. Our 104-bed facility serves nearly 1,400 residents each year through a 120-day program aimed at empowering families to live independent, violence-free lives. 95 percent of families that complete our program do not return to the abusive environments from which they came creating a legacy of generations free from violence.

Duet helps children avoid foster care placement by offering critically needed guidance and support to the grandparents who are raising them. From support groups and benefit counseling to healthy family activities, legal assistance, and respite, Duet’s no-cost services provide children with stability and safety to greatly increase their chances for success in life. With Trends Charitable Fund’s investment, Duet will provide vital assistance to over 450 grandchildren and 650 grandparents who are raising them throughout greater Phoenix.

ICM Food & Clothing Bank, established in 1983, served 118,000 of the Valley’s neediest individuals in 2013. In addition to food and clothing, families and individuals are given toiletries, household goods and can be seen by medical personnel at a free medical screening clinic once a month. Other special services include a summer feeding program for children, a backpack and school uniform distribution in the fall, and toy distribution at the holidays. ICM is volunteer-driven, with a very small paid staff, to lower overhead costs.

UMOM New Day Centers mission is to prevent and end homelessness with innovative strategies and housing solutions that meet the unique needs of each family and individual. Our programs and supportive services are all designed to help families and individual meet basic needs and work towards the ultimate goal of permanent, affordable housing. Founded in 1964, UMOM is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. For 50 years, UMOM has been serving the community’s most vulnerable individuals. UMOM provides the full continuum of care to families experiencing homelessness. Our goal, first and foremost, is to end homelessness for each family as quickly as possible. UMOM's services includes a spectrum of programs that include emergency and extended shelter, domestic violence shelter, rapid rehousing and permanent housing. UMOM's supportive services include meals, safe shelter, medical care, childcare and afterschool programs, job skills training, vocational training/education, health and wellness education, and substance abuse treatment. We use an evidence-based assessment system to carefully match each family with the most appropriate program based on their needs. For children and youth, UMOM operates a child development center, with programs that include early childhood education, after school programs for school-age children, field trips, teen after school club, summer programs and more.
